The Bow Corpse – Concept, method, performance

0

A two minute video summary from a performance-talk at Klangsamfunnet, about upcoming ochestra work The Bow Corpse, performed by BIT20 Ensemble, 12 musicians and thousands of digital clones in realtime swarm simulators.

In this talk I’m introducing the concept and theory behind the piece, big data, social media and privacy. Then I’m discussing how to turn these theories into practice, by using trashed, ignored sounds and hidden data from acoustic instruments in a musical context through swarm behaviours. Finally I do a brief solo demonstration, performing with these sounds and swarms in realtime.

The whole 20 minute talk is also available, minus the final performance part.

The piece premieres at Nattjazz 2015, June 1st at USF Røkeriet.
